Summary
Un-Fuck Us is a movement of Gen Z and Millennial citizens committed to educating our peers on the specific ways we’ve been fucked by the old guard, and galvanizing them to vote in 2020 and beyond.
Strategic Goals
Unfuck Us has 3 key goals:
- Create a sense of urgency for Gen Z/Millennial citizens, and help them to realize their agency in the electoral process.
- Simplify the messaging for Gen Z/Millennial citizens to understand why it’s in their self interest to vote for Biden/Harris, even if they don’t like them personally.
- Convince Gen Z/Millennial citizens that they should vote earlier than election day, and educate them as to how to register and when they can vote.
The Problem
The electoral process dissuades Millennials and Gen Z from taking part in it. For things to get better, these citizens must come to realize the urgency of this election as it relates to their future. Younger citizens could win the election for Biden if they can show up.
As we’ve seen with headlines from USPS sabotage to charging protestors with felonies, the GOP knows this and is actively working to make voting difficult. We need to activate, energize and organize Millennials and Gen Z to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris if we want to have a democracy left to fight for.
What We Do
We create content focusing on our key message:
You are getting fucked by the people in power. It’s now election season. You have the agency to take back the power and unfuck yourself by voting.
Underlying that message, we need our generation to understand that this election is a zero-sum game. Not voting is not normal in a democracy. We can demand more from the government and actually get it once everyone votes. Citizens need to take action now because if they wait until election day they’ve waited too late.
Higher turnout means we have to compromise less on the important stuff, and can demand more accountability from politicians.
We know that many younger voters are not particularly excited about Joe Biden, but it’s important they know he is just a means to an end.
We’re REALLY fucked if Trump wins another term in office, and we might not be able to come back from it.
